Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone has a nice and relaxing day with their families!

I am thankful and grateful for so many things! I am so thankful for my husband Erik. He is the love of my life, and has been so incredibly wonderful and understanding during my pregnancy! He has been so helpful! For example, if I feel thirsty, he makes me tea! When my phone got a message from my sister landing after her flight last night, he went and got my phone from downstairs for me! Best of all, he never makes it seem like it's a burden on him. And he is so excited for the arrival of Baby Grimmer! It has been so much fun picking out things for his nursery, registering together, and imagining what our life will be like when he is here! I feel so lucky and blessed to have him loving me!

I am so grateful for my little baby growing inside of me. I've always felt that being a mother is what I was born to do. It's such a surreal miracle to know that there is a little person developing inside of me! I hope and pray that he continues to grow healthfully, and look forward to meeting him in a few more months!

I feel so blessed to have such well-behaved, loyal, and loving dogs! Sure they like to bark, but they love to snuggle even more! I love each of their little personalities!

I am so thankful for my family!! I have the best parents in the world. They give such unconditional love, and are always by my side. I am so blessed to have such a great sister! I can always count on Natalie whenever I need her! She gives the best advice, and is the best listener I know! I am so lucky that Erik's family is always welcoming and loving! They always make me feel at home with them!

I am thankful for all of the many friends I have in my life! I can count on any of them, and feel blessed that all of them are a part of my life! They make me laugh, and make me feel loved!

Most importantly, I am grateful to God that I have so many wonderful things to be thankful for! He gives me my strength, and has made me the person I am today.

Tuesday's structural ultrasound went well! They said Baby Grimmer looks good so far! He was giving the tech a hard time by not cooperating for one of the heart views! We had a talk while we waited for the doctor to come in, and when the doctor looked at his heart, he finally stopped wiggling! We'd like to think we're already getting him to listen!

I asked what position he was sitting in, and they said that his head is up high, and his feet are by my abdomen. I asked if this was normal, and they said, "he's going to sit however he's comfortable." When the tech left, I told Erik, well he better feel like doing some somersaults in a few months!! At 20 and a half weeks he already weighs 13 oz! Almost a pound!

I spoke with my doctor after the ultrasound. He still wasn't exactly sure about the pains I had. I told him they've stayed away for a week, and he said it'll be good if it stays that way! Umm yah, I hope so too!

We are really blessed to have gotten a crib from my dental hygienist. At my cleaning last week, she told me about a crib she bought during the year for her baby niece who stayed with her for a few months. She's been trying to find someone to take this crib, and something kept telling her not to get rid of it, that someone would need it! She said she wanted Erik and me to have it! We're so grateful! Hopefully we'll get it put together soon! His room is slowly coming together!

I'll try to get some pictures up this week!

TO TELL OR NOT TO TELL...

Erik and I have picked out our baby boy's name, but we're debating on sharing it now or later. Part of us wants it to be a surprise, but the other part of us would like for everyone to be able to relate to him more. We'll see what we decide in the next few weeks!

I can't believe I'm half way done! 20 weeks on Saturday!! The time has flown by! I'm definitely showing now! While getting ready for church this morning, I looked at my profile and exclaimed, "Now I look pregnant, not just fat!" Erik couldn't stop laughing!

I've been feeling pretty good, except for some weird abdominal pains I was having last week. I talked to my doctor, who said he wasn't sure what the pains were. I had an ultrasound last Thursday to check on the little guy, and to make sure that everything inside of me looked ok. I was a little frustrated with the ultrasound department. I had to go there instead of my doctor's office. The tech said everything looked good to her. Then an MD came in and said, "I looked at the pictures and your structures look good." I said, "Does the baby look ok?" He responded, "Well we didn't really look at the baby. His heartbeat was good."

Are you kidding me?!? Not the right thing to tell me!! A little reassurance would have gone a long way! I guess I'll just have to check on him on Tuesday. Then I'll have a structural ultrasound to check on his organs and spine. Hopefully everything is developing correctly.

As for the pains, they've stopped for now. I'm hoping it was just round ligament stretching or braxton hicks, both which would be normal pains. Hopefully I'll be able to talk to my doctor on Tuesday!

Erik has already started working on our little guy's room! He took down the wall paper and shelves, and has the first two coats of paint up! He's going to get the last coat on tonight, and will work on installing some new blinds this week! We're going with a sports theme...big surprise, I know! We picked out a light brown paint that will match his bedding set of blues, greens, and light browns.

Lastly, we felt some little movements today!!! For the last week, I've thought that I left a little something, but today we could see and feel a little kick or punch. Very cool! Even Erik could feel it!! What an amazing thing to share together!

Well it's time...all of my regular jeans don't fit! I went to look for maternity jeans on Tuesday, just in case. I didn't want to be caught with nothing to wear! Well Wednesday at jury duty, while I was sitting and waiting around, I noticed that my jeans were really uncomfortable and were squeezing on my stomach. So Thursday marked the official first day of maternity pants! Baby Boy feels much better, and I have had a little less pain in my abdomen! However, regarding the pain, I swear I feel every growth spurt and stretch as it's happening! Erik has been amazing in making me sit down and do nothing at these moments! As everyone knows, it's very difficult for me to just sit there! He's also been helpful in trading off on chores. He's doing the vacuuming, and I'm wiping down the bathrooms...however he still has to do toilets!
