Caleb is 8!

I cannot believe another year has flown by!  Caleb John is 8 years old, and I have no idea how that's possible!!  He's still such a sweetheart!  He's always doing and saying really thoughtful things.  I hope that never changes!  It's also clear that he's maturing.  He's a better listener, but is still very strong willed!  He still asks a lot of questions! He has become an amazing reader, which makes me happy to see!  Writing is another story, but hopefully that will improve!  LOL!  He really likes science, and tells me he wants to build robots.  He enjoys swimming.  He recognizes feelings and emotions, and shares them willingly with me...for now!  He still enjoys playing with Mila!  He's started to fall asleep more on his own, but will tell me that he still likes it when I snuggle him.  He loves his glasses.  

I Want to Remember

Convos with Caleb: "Mom, I can't believe that women grow arms, legs, hearts inside of their bodies. They even grow eyeballs! 2 minutes later, he's talking about the leprechaun trap he wants to build! 🤣 Then he had a sudden realization. "Mom, a leprechaun's never been to our house, so what's the point of me building a trap?" I ALMOST had the most epic mom fail after that. I ALMOST said, "Well leprechauns aren't even real."

When Caleb's class was studying about dinosaurs, and he asked his teacher if he could put together a model with his dinosaurs for the class! His exact words to me were, "I'm not trying to show off, but I want to bring fun back into science!"

When I asked Mila if she wanted to add any prayers tonight, she said, "I love you God. Thank you for making me."

Convos with Caleb: "Mom, a boy in my class kissed a girl on the cheek today in art class! And he called her babe! I mean, I could see if they were boyfriend and girlfriend in college or high school, but literally, 2nd grade?!?" YES, I feel the same way Caleb!! Let's think this way for a long time!!

Mila lost her 1st tooth

Mila lost her 1st tooth!!  I can't believe it!  She'd been wiggling it for about 2 weeks!  I was getting ready for bed, and Erik was helping her brush her teeth.  She ran into my bathroom with her hands over her mouth!  She moved her hands, and showed me the bloody hole in her mouth!  She was super excited, and was screaming that she lost her tooth!!  I was shocked!  I thought it still had another week!

Then I was even more surprised when she told me, "Daddy pulled it out!!"  He was as excited as she was!  He was with Caleb when he lost his first tooth, and was proud that he was involved in Mila's 1st lost tooth!  She asked him to try and wiggle it for her, and she hadn't even realized that he pulled it out!  No tears!

She was so excited to get it ready for the Tooth Fairy!!  Caleb also left a note and tiny pencil for the Tooth Fairy!  The next morning, she was excited to find a $1 and a note from the Tooth Fairy!  Also, their little Tooth Fairy doll  was placed next to Caleb's note!  The Tooth Fairy wrote, "Nice try Caleb!  I look a lot like this!" 😁
