He's absolutely perfect!

39 week appointment

Yesterday's checkup went very well! Caleb is weighing in at a little less than 7 and a half lbs! Dr. Davies said he could make his arrival any day now! I sure hope so! I really hope that things will start to happen like they're supposed to, and that I don't have to get induced! They said if I go past my due date, they'd wait one more week til 41 weeks. After that, it could be dangerous if he has a bowel movement in utero, and inhales any of that! So please say a prayer that he wants to come out on his own!!

38 week appointment

Today was my 38 week appointment...so close, but it seems like forever before we will finally meet Caleb! Last night and this morning, I had some back spasms, which made us get all excited that maybe labor was coming! We packed up the bags just in case they would tell us we were being admitted and he was on the way! It seemed like such a disappointment when the MD said, "See you next week, or maybe sooner!"

I've been very fortunate that I've been feeling as well as I have, so it's not that I'm physically uncomfortable waiting for him to arrive, but that it's emotionally exhausting wondering, "Is this the day?!"

The MD visit went well! This MD took some more accurate measurements on the ultrasound, and said he looks to weigh about 6 lbs 14 oz!! That's more like it baby boy!! He made his Mama nervous last week! Doctor said by looking at my stomach, he would even guess that Caleb looked to be in the low 7 lb range. He definitely doesn't think I'll be having a 9 pounder! WHEW!

He said I'm dilated between 3 & 4, so no real big change. Our next appointment will be on Monday, unless labor begins before then! I'm just going to focus on enjoying my time with Erik and the puppies before our family grows by one! Hopefully Caleb will continue to be healthy, and things will keep progressing like they're supposed to! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

38 weeks

37 week appointment

We had our 37 week appointment today! Caleb and Mom are both doing well! My weight and blood pressure are right on track, and I'm now dilated to 3cm! The doctor said it could be any day now, or within a week or two! So we still have no idea! Haha!

Caleb's weight on the other hand is scarring me! They're estimating him to be at 7.5 lbs already! I looked at the doctor and said, "What?! He was just 5 lbs 13 oz last week!!"

The way they estimate is by measuring the size of his stomach on the ultrasound. He said that if his stomach was compressed a little bit last week it could have been inaccurate. However we had a nice full view of his round tummy yesterday, so the doctor said, "I think he's between 7 and 7.5 lbs!

When the doctor left the room, I didn't move off the table! Erik looked at me and started laughing, "What's wrong?"

I said, "If he's in there for another two weeks, he could weigh 9 lbs!!!" Erik decided that we're going to go for walks with Riley every night, and see if that makes him want to come out sooner! Haha!! I asked him if he was going to make me eat spicy foods too!

Our next appointment is on Tuesday, so we'll see what happens! I'm getting so very excited!! I can't believe that our son will be here soon! I've been feeling pretty good still. I've been very fortunate to not have any swelling, or other uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms. I told Erik I don't mind waiting two weeks more weeks, but that if he really is already 7.5 lbs, well then I'm ready for him to come now :o)

More Baby Showers!!

I am one lucky Mama-to-be! I had two showers at work! TWO!! One was last week, thrown by the ladies in my office! It was such a nice surprise!! They decorated the lunch room, ordered lunch and a beautiful cake, and got us a video monitor for Caleb's room!! There were also many other gifts of adorable outfits, towels, and washcloths! My Mom came to the office as a surprise and made cute party favors to pass around!

Then today the physical therapy department next door to us threw me another shower! I was so touched to be included as one of their own! I often go over there to get patients for appointments with the doctors, and always stop to say hi and catch up with my work friends! They ordered lunch and delicious cookies, decorated with streamers, and were so generous with gifts! We got gifts with Caleb's name on them...a piggy bank, a bib, and a burp cloth! I also got two scrapbooks! I hope I'll have time to work on them eventually!

36 week appointment

Our appointment went really well today :o) There's been no change in dilation or effacement, so maybe he's got a few more weeks before making his grand entrance! That would be A-OK with me since I'd like to get rid of this cold first! The doctor said that he weighs about 5 lbs 13 oz! I'm happy with that size! I keep telling Caleb that 6 something lbs is totally acceptable!! We'll see if he listens to his Mama!

I know everyone keeps telling me I look small, but I think I look pretty huge!
