Halloween

We had one of our best Halloweens!  The weather was amazing!  We got to trick or treat with cousins and friends!  The Juncks invited us to go around their neighborhood and then back to their house for pizza.  Caleb had been asking me for years to be a T-rex in one of those blow up costumes.  I finally gave in!  Then his best friend, Miller, got the same costume!  It was hilarious to see two T-rexs bobbing down the street together!  Mila decided she wanted to dress up as an artist, and I was excited because it was a super easy costume to put together!

It's crazy how Mila followed a similar pattern that Caleb had in 5th grade.  At that grade, they are given a ton of work "to prepare them for middle school."  However for kids who have a hard time focusing, an hour of homework turns into 3 hours of homework!  It's as torturous as it sounds!  They both had the same teacher in 5th grade, and she was the one that suggested that Caleb may have ADHD.  Once he started medication, the difference in his behavior was astounding!

Poor Mila was following in his foot steps, but luckily, having gone through this once already, I reached out to her teacher only after 2 months of 5th grade.  She did tell me that Mila works very slowly (she's always slow at everything!) and does seem to lose focus.  After meeting with her pediatrician, we started some medication and saw a difference immediately!  Also it helped that her teacher let her do half of the math problems every night.  

So both of our kids have ADHD.  Who would have thought?!  I still don't understand how or why, but I'm grateful that there's medication they can take that helps.

Happy 16th Birthday Reese!

Reese is 16!!  Oh our sweet baby girl!  I was so worried about her when Bella died.  They were always together!  We've made sure to give her even more love and attention.  I'm so grateful for another year with my baby Reese!  She is my shadow and follows me everywhere.  When I go to the bathroom, she's waiting for me right outside the door.  She sleeps right next to my right side every single night.  At night, when it's getting close to bedtime, she will bark at me to tell me it's time to get into bed!  She's so funny!  She also has a spot in Mila's bed where she lays every night while I get Mila to sleep.  She's been doing well with eating her kibbles, if we add in some chicken!  She still loves going on walks, and still runs most of the way up and down the block!  She's Hazel's favorite, although she likes to avoid anyone's tight hugs.  They make her nervous!  Everyday is a gift with her, and I have her by my side whenever we are at home!

We were so excited to do the pumpkin farm with our cousins and the Indiana cousins!  We always have fun and chaos when we're together!
