From the Mouth of my Babe
While looking at Halloween costumes with Caleb, Joy and I were asking him if he'd possibly like to be Winnie the Pooh or Tigger? He noted that there was no Piglet costume, and we agreed that it was missing. He sat back in the cart and said sadly, "I don't believe it." I asked him what he didn't believe and he responded, "That there's no Piglet costume!"

Fun Visitors and Mom's Birthday

From the Mouth of my Babe
Caleb always picks flowers for me when he sees them outside! My Dad helped him pick a Rose of Sharon, and told him what it was. Caleb told him, "no Dido, it's a Rose of Caleb!"
We were having a family dinner when Natalie and Eric were in town to celebrate my Mom's Birthday. Before we ate we were wishing her a happy birthday and were getting ready to eat, when Caleb said, "Wait, we didn't pray!" He folded his hands and led us in a pray, "Thank you God for our day!"

Mila ~ 1 month old
Mila is 1 month old! We survived a month as parents of two! YEAH!! I'm very grateful to our parents for all their help! It's getting a little easier trying to juggle everything I need to do in a day. I pray for the day I seem to have a little sense of order and consistency :) Everyone who told me, "Every baby is different," was right! I try not to, but I can't help but make comparisons between Caleb and Mila all the time!
She's about 8 1/2 lbs now! She's definitely growing well! I can't wait for her 2 month checkup to see just how much she's grown! She's still wearing newborn clothes, but some of the outfits are getting snug. She also still wears newborn diapers. She likes to be in motion. Stroller and car rides put her to sleep!
Her neck is very strong! She's been holding her head up since 1 week old!
Thank God she doesn't mind her bouncy chair! When she's napping or when I have to help Caleb with something, I have to put her down in a safe place, and she usually stays calm in there!
She's been eating about 3 1/2 oz every 2-3 hours. Sometimes she drags on her feeding for an hour, so I can't believe that it's time for another feeding when she starts sticking that little tongue out at me!
She "talks" while she eats and sleeps! She's also starting to make little sounds here and there!
She's starting to lose her newborn hair, and I'm excited to see what color will grow in! She also has blue eyes, so we'll see if those stay the same!
Mila's been more alert, and has started tracking us with her eyes.
Mila does not like headbands! The few times I've tried to put one on, the painful screaming starts! I should have started putting them on her sooner, so maybe she would have gotten used to them! Then again, her Mom doesn't do all that much primping with her own hair...like Mother, like daughter I guess! We'll have to work on getting her to like the headbands, because she has a ton of cute ones!
She goes from 0-100 in about 10 seconds! If I'm not ready to feed her when she's hungry, she freaks out with an awful, painful sounding cry, and has real tears! I pray to God this isn't a preview of what she'll be like at 2!
She's been sleeping about 4 hours at night, and I am really looking forward to the night when those stretches become 6, then 7 or 8 hours!!! When she wakes up to eat, she constantly is falling back asleep, so there are times when I'm up for about an hour or two to fill up her tummy. Then we also have the three diaper changes in a matter of 5 minutes to deal with! Oh Miss Mila!
Like her big brother, she hates getting her nose cleaned out! You would think that I was torturing them or something! Is it too much to ask for a booger free nose? I just want to make sure they don't progress to getting some other kind of illness because of their stuffed up noses!!
Some of my favorite things that I don't want to forget:
The look on her little face when she has the Moro reflex...and I just love seeing her arms and legs shoot out! It makes me imagine hearing her say, "Gimme a hug!"
I LOVE the way she curls up when she cuddles! She looks like a koala bear!
I love how much Caleb loves being a big brother! He is just awesome with her!
I love how babies look in little sleeper sack pjs!

Mila ~ 3 weeks old
Miss Mila is already 3 weeks old! How did that happen? She is definitely growing and filling out! Some of her newborn clothes is still big on her, while a few outfits are starting to get snug! It's amazing how different things are the second time around! I swore that I wouldn't get lost in trying to record every detail or take a million pictures, but here I am again trying to hold on to time that always seems to slip away too quickly!
Mila sleeps more than Caleb did, or at least it seems that way! She started out being really fussy and crying a lot in the first week of being home, but she seems to have quieted down a lot! Either that or I finally remembered how to calm a screamer :)
She eats every 2 hours, but I've been switching off between breastfeeding and giving her a bottle, so it doesn't seem so overwhelming. With being the second child, she gets put down a lot more than Caleb did, but she seems to be doing all right with that! She's also been good napping either in the bouncer or pack-n-play.
Most nights she sleeps for 5 hours, wakes up for about an hour to eat, and then sleeps another 3 hours. I say most nights, because if I don't wake her up enough during the day, she is up every two hours at night :(
When she's hungry, she eats and pecks at my face! It's so cute! I also love that little Moro reflex!
Caleb has continued to be really good with her! He's always talking to her and telling her, "It's ok, your big brother is here!" The dogs are also amazing with her! Mama Bella is always keeping a close eye on her!
