First Day of School
This year, first day of school looked a little different. Our country is still dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Our school gave us the choice as to whether we wanted to go back to in-person learning or virtual learning. Erik and I feel like most schools will end up going to virtual learning, so that is what we chose. We also feel it is safer for everyone. That being said, I feel bad because I know the kids miss their friends!
On the first day, even though we were at home, we all still felt that new school year excitement. We did our traditional pictures out on the front rock! I can't believe that we have a 5th and 3rd grader!! Time just keeps flying by at an insane pace!
It was also Mila's birthday on the first day of school! Her teacher sent home a little gift and card for her with her school supplies! So thoughtful!
Happy 8th Birthday Mila
Our little Mila is 8 years old!! I cannot believe it!
She is 3'11" and weighs 52 lbs. Her legs are getting so long, even though she's still one of the shortest girls in class!
She is our little athlete! She seems like a natural at whatever she tries! She's playing soccer for the first time this fall! Daddy can't wait!
She is becoming more open to change! She decided to rearrange all of her dresser drawers one day because she wanted something to be different.
She has become a great helper in the mornings! She helps me bring the dogs outside, feeds them and her fish, and starts my coffee! What more can I ask for!?
She wears size 7 or 8 clothes and a size 1 shoe. She loves to get dressed up in one of her dresses and put on makeup and clip on earrings. We've been talking about when she'll want to get her ears pierced! Then the next day she wants to wear her comfy clothes and refuses to brush her hair!
She is able to swim on her own in the deep end! That was a big accomplishment this summer! She still needs to work on endurance, but she can do it!
Her latest goodbye with me includes waving at the window and telling me to wear my pink bracelet. One morning she was having a hard time saying goodbye. I grabbed one of her pink peanut allergy bracelets and told her I'd wear one too so we'd both have bracelets on. Now every time I leave the house I'm told to wear my bracelet!
Mila is very confident in herself! So much so, that I have to remind her not to be quite as sassy!
She loves her puppy dogs so much!! She is always petting and snuggling them! They see how much she takes care of them and listen to her!
She would love to have glasses! Some days she will wear these plastic fake ones!
She is VERY strong willed! She and Scarlett are best friends, but when you get two strong willed girls together, they do not always agree!
