Caleb's 9th Birthday ~ Shark Party
We had so much fun celebrating our 9 year old!! Caleb loves swimming, so it was only natural to have his party at a pool! I was excited when he agreed with my idea of a shark party! We invited a few friends from school and family to swim at Splash Central. While the adults sweated away in the humidity, the kids had a blast swimming!! The one major bummer was that Mila had the flu and missed out on his party! Gratefully, my Mom stayed home with her!
I personally love that our kids' birthdays usually fall on Spring break and Summer vacation! I love being home with them all day! We did all of our birthday traditions...streamer run, family gifts, measurements, and semi annual questions!
Erik and I turned an old coffee table into a lego table! Both kids have really been into building with legos lately!
Caleb and Mila have this ongoing joke about llamas! He says he hates them because they destroyed something in Minecraft. Naturally she keeps teasing him about them! She couldn't wait to give him this little llama today!!
When we asked him what he wanted to do on his birthday, he replied, "Go to a Nature Center!" Auntie Lisa, Scarlett, and Nikko went with us, and the kids even got to hold some turtles!
My parents, Natalie, and Grandma Joy joined us for dinner and cupcakes! I think the birthday boy had a fun day!
Caleb John is 9!
How is our sweet boy already 9!?! He is so creative, intelligent, thoughtful, kind, precocious, loud, handsome, and sometimes impatient!
He is about 4'6" tall and weighs about 74 lbs!
He wears size 10-12 clothes and size 3 shoes!
He is still completely obsessed with dragons, dinosaurs, robotics, and legos!
His memory constantly amazes us! We swear it's photographic!
Even though he's in 3rd grade, he is reading at a 6th grade level! He loves to read, and flies through chapter books!
His vocabulary is impressive! He's always surprising us with things he says!
He's very creative and imaginative! He is always coming up with new ideas!
He is our water baby! He loves to swim and spend hours in the water! He's gotten really good at swimming too!
He is constantly asking for a pet lizard, and recently started talking about a turtle!
He is our good eater! He will pretty much eat whatever we eat, and will always at least try something new! He has a giant sweet tooth!
He still likes to snuggle, and when he's tired, still holds our ears!! However, he is starting to get embarrassed by public affection! We came up with a secret way to say I love you!
He is our early bird! He likes to wake up before his alarm goes off! He gets ready for school and makes his breakfast before anyone else is out of bed!
He would do anything for Mila! He is an amazing big brother!
He is a talented artist! His latest drawing was a robotic dinosaur!
He is not very fond of writing, but we're working on that!! His cursive writing is better than his printing!
He doesn't like wearing gel in his hair, and if it was up to him, he'd grow his hair out longer and wear it messy everyday! He tells me that's how cool kids wear it!
He would rather be inside reading or playing a computer game than playing outside. However, once forced outside, his imagination takes over and he creates games with Mila. They almost always include mud and/or water!!
He not so secretly likes to dance!
He has lost 9 teeth so far! By the grace of God, I don't think he'll need braces! Fingers crossed!!
We love this incredible boy so much! We pray God keeps him healthy and happy! Happy 9th Birthday son!!
