Summer Fun

This summer was challenging, but we made the best of it 😊  I work from home now on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so we weren't always able to go out and do what we wanted to.  Also, my Mom had her knee replaced, so a lot of my time and energy was focused on her recovery.  The kids went to Boys & Girls Club while my Mom recovered.  That was different this summer, but they did a great job and had fun!  Natalie was a big help with watching them and driving them back and forth while I was at work.  Even though I felt like it was a mediocre summer, I hope they didn't notice!!

1st Day of School

I can't believe we have 1st and 3rd graders!!  The kids were excited to find out their teachers and which friends they had in class!  Mila has Miss White and Caleb has Mrs. Murphy.
Our big girl has a locker this year!

I tried to get a picture of her walking in, but she turned around to give me one more hug!

Mila Grace is 6!

I cannot believe our sweet Mila Grace is 6 years old!! She is beautiful, emotional, loving, smart, creative, imaginative, thoughtful, sometimes bossy, and persistent!
She is about 3'7" tall and weighs 42 lbs.
She wears size 6 clothes and size 11 or 11.5 shoes.
She definitely likes to wear comfortable clothes, and will not wear something if it is too tight or itchy!  She refuses to wear jeans!
She loves animals, especially little cute ones!  She would squeeze them all day if she could!
She is a very picky eater!!  The things she will eat include cereal, pancakes, waffles, ham sandwiches, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, spaghetti, strawberries, grapes, peach cups, the tops of broccoli, ice cream, cookies, yogurt, any crackers, most chips...she is a carb queen!!
She does not like goodbyes, especially with me!  She has to give a ton of hugs and kisses, until she feels it's enough, before I can leave her.
She is not a morning person, but some days she surprises us!
She loves to draw, and is often seem with one of her many notebooks!
She does not like to wear bows in her hair as much anymore.  Some days when I ask, she'll oblige!  She likes her hair in a low pony tail!
She is a perfect mix between tom boy and girly girl!  She likes to wear comfy clothes, necklaces, pony tails, nail polish, and likes to play makeup!
She likes to sing, and loves when she can read the lyrics.  Some of her favorite singers are Meghan Trainor and Taylor Swift.
She also likes to dance and is practicing her cartwheels!  We've talked about trying gymnastics next year!
She has lost 3 teeth so far!  She loves it when they are wiggly!
Nicknames: Mila Bean, Ladybug, sweet pea, munchkin.

She is getting closer to swimming on her own!  She has become much more confident in the water, and will now swim on her own where she knows she can touch.
She still loves her baby dolls.
She can read!!  She began reading last year in Kindergarten!  She is still very shy about it, so she prefers I read to her, but she is a good reader!
She loves to swing at the park.
We love this sweet girl with all of our hearts!! I pray God keeps her safe and healthy! Happy 6th Birthday little love!

Mila's 6th Mermaid Party

I cannot believe that our Mila Grace is 6!!  We had a super fun mermaid themed birthday party at Blue Heron Splash Park!  We could not have asked for better weather or more perfect timing!  We had the whole park to ourselves for most of the party!!

She had fun being pushed on the swings and splashing around with her family and friends!
The next day, we continued our mermaid theme back at home for Mila's real birthday!  She opened presents from us and Caleb.  He was very adamant about buying her a swimmable mermaid tail!  When we told him it was kind of expensive, he offered to use his Amazon gift cards!  We spent the day lounging around the house together, playing with her new gifts, trying on her new clothes, and shared cupcakes with Babtcha and Dido.  We are so incredibly grateful for another year with our sweet girl!

This was her gift from Caleb!  Daddy and Caleb cut out a seashell bra out of construction paper for their little mermaid!
