Mila's 1st haircut!

She did great with a little coaxing from Caleb!  He told her not to worry about anything, and that when she'd be done she'd get a cookie!  Thank goodness for my little boy!  I remembered to bring cookies from home that I knew where peanut free!  Right when we walked into the salon, Caleb ran to play with the toys.  When asked if his sister was getting a haircut, he responded, "yes, and she's allergic to peanuts!"  So glad he's always looking out for her!  Mila sat on my lap and Miss Laura did a wonderful job!  The baby mullet is finally gone!!

1st day at the pool!

We had a really nice Memorial Weekend!  We spent most of Sunday cleaning out and organizing our garage!  Moving in the winter, didn't allow us to sort through all of those things until we got some warmer weather!  Caleb went to Grandma Joy's for the afternoon, and Mila napped and then played outside by us while we worked.  I'm really proud of everything Erik and I did!  We cleaned out the whole garage, and even power washed everything!

On Monday, Erik and Matt went golfing, and Gail (Matt's girlfriend) and I took the kids to the pool!  Both of our kids are water bugs!!  Caleb did great swimming around with his water wings!!  I did try to take them off once and realized we definitely need to do more swim lessons!  Mila was kicking and paddling her hands, floating on her back and kicking, and even jumping into our arms!

The guys met up with us after golf, but Mila was exhausted!  We tried to get back into the pool with Daddy, but she kept crying.  I put her on the edge of the pool, and was going to hop out myself, when she took off towards the deeper part of the pool!  I knew exactly what my girl was doing, and hopped out of the water and ran after her!  Sure enough, she jumped into the pool by herself!  I was 2 seconds behind her, and grabbed whatever I could to bring her out of the water!  So thankful that she hadn't inhaled any water!  She didn't even cough or choke, but just seemed scared from going underwater.  My little fishy needs some sort of floaties like her big brother!  I've already asked some of my friends and will be buying her some "puddle jumpers" at our next trip to Target!

Aside from those two terrifying seconds, we had a great day at the pool :)

Caleb is an even bigger kid now!

Caleb is wearing underpants at bed time now!!  I felt like this was blog worthy news :)  He has not had an accident at night for about 2 months, yet we still had him wear a pull up just in case.  I decided to go for it, and he's been doing great!  It's so cute seeing how proud he is of himself!

**I added about 5 new blog posts going all the way back to Easter!  I hadn't realized that I missed sharing so many things!

Mila ~ 21 months old

Our little girl is growing by leaps and bounds!

After last month's car sickness incidents, we turned Mila's car seat forward facing.  Fingers crossed we've found a solution, because she hasn't thrown up since!
She's really steady and fast when she runs!

Her hair is starting to grow more on top, not just in the back!  Just a little bit more and her side part will stay!!
She's learning more colors!  She knows, green, pink, blue, purple and yellow!
Mila's also learning more shapes like square, circle, triangle, and heart.
She has been getting a little better with her Mommy attachment, and has been getting excited when Daddy comes home from work!!  I love hearing her say Dada!!
When we're getting ready to go, she runs to put her coat and shoes on!  She also knows right when we come inside to take those things off.  When people come over and leave their shoes on, she will tell them to take them off!!
This is gross, but she is a scab picker!  It's a terrible habit, and she now has a little scar on her cheek because she wouldn't stop picking at it!  Even after they're healed, her hand always finds that spot!

When her brother teases her, she screams at him very loudly!  We call it her dinosaur yell!
She loves playing with her baby dolls.  She calls them baby or lala, and she has to carry them all around at once!  She won't just bring one downstairs from her room!  She insists on bring down all 3 or 4!
When "counting," she says ten, ten, ten over and over again!
She gives the tightest hugs!  I love it!!
Mila likes to play chase around the island in the kitchen.  She squeals out in laughter when you catch her!
She still loves her Bro bro very much!  She calls him Cay Cay sometimes, but for the most part it's still Bro bro!  She wants to do whatever he does!  It's so cute!

My Little Singer

Every time we ride in the car, Mila asks for, "Go."  She loves listening to "Let It Go," from the Frozen soundtrack!  Recently she's been singing along, and it surprises me at how much of the song she really knows!

My Best Friend's Wedding

My friend Mary is getting married in a few weeks, and I'm so excited to be her Matron of Honor!  All of the festivities leading up to the big day have started, and have been so much fun!  Her sister in laws' hosted a very cute shower for her at a restaurant called Jolane's Café.  It was one of the first sunny and warm days we've had all year!
Then this past weekend we had her Bachelorette party!  We went to dinner at an Italian restaurant called Lucia's.  The food was really good, and the restaurant staff were so nice and attentive!  Then we did a painting class together!  The shop lets you bring in your own snacks and drinks, and they provided us with all of the art supplies!  We had so much fun painting the Chicago skyline!  After that we went to a wine bar, and finished up the night at a local bar called Lottie's.  It was so much fun to have a girl's night out!!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day!  My celebration actually started earlier in the week!  On Tuesday, Caleb's school hosted a Mother's Day Tea!  It was so cute!!  I knew they would be singing a song, because I caught him practicing it one day at home!  I had no idea they would sing four songs for us!!  It was adorable!!  He did such a great job!  He participated when he was supposed to, but you could see he was a little shy!  I loved the way his whole face lit up and smiled when he looked at me!

Then we got to take a picture together, color and create our own book, and share a snack and tea!  I loved that he school did that!  It was a really special afternoon together!

On Sunday, Erik let me sleep in (YEAH!) and made breakfast with the kids.  I came downstairs to eggs, toast, turkey sausage, and coffee all set up on the table!  After we ate, I got to open all of my cards and presents.  I even got a card from the dogs that had a dachshund vacuuming!  Erik had picked out some really pretty wall decorations for the house that he knew I'd like!  We relaxed the rest of the morning with a movie and played with toys.

We stopped by Erik's Dad's house to give Nan her Mother's Day cards and gifts.  This year we had all of the cousins put their handprints or footprints on a flower pot, and turned the prints into either butterflies or flowers!  I made one for each of the Moms in our family, and one for myself :)

Then we ran a few errands, which included buying a new grill so we could have Erik's family come over for dinner!  Nick and Erik grilled and made dinner for us!  The cousins had a fun time, and then we all had some ice cream for dessert!  We had a lot of fun giving Erik's Mom all of her cards and gifts!

love my sweet girl!
I'm so lucky and grateful for these two!
On Tuesday, my Mom came over to spend the day together!  We had fun shopping with Mila while Caleb was in school, and then spent time together at our house.  It was so nice to just talk and hang out!  I'm so lucky to have such an amazing Mom!  She gives so much of herself, and is always there for us!

Gramps' 80th Birthday

We drove to Indy for Gramps' 80th Birthday celebration!  It was so fun seeing more of Erik's family!  The time always goes by too quickly!  We slept over at Aunt Sandy and Uncle Scot's house.  In the morning all of the guys went golfing, and the girls had a relaxing morning out on the deck!  We then all ate a delicious lunch at Buca Di Beppo to celebrate Grandpa's Birthday!
