I had a pretty great birthday. Unfortunately Erik was out of town during my birthday, so that was unusual and strange. He did surprise me with a new laptop before he left, so that was nice and thoughtful. Yet it was really weird not having him here to help me celebrate. I was lucky however that my Mom, Caleb, Mila, Joy and Gram helped to make my day special. My Mom slept over the night before, so the morning of my birthday she made me strawberry crepes for my breakfast, just like she used to do when I was a little girl!
Then Joy and Gram watched the kids for a few hours so my Mom and I could enjoy some mommy daughter time together. We went for an hour long massage and got lunch together! Even though I see my Mom 3 days a week while she's watching the kids, we never really get to spend much quality time together. We need to do that more often!!
After that we came home and I opened some presents from Joy and Gram. Then my mom and I took the kids to go see Finding Dory. It was a really cute movie! During one sad scene, I was surprised that Caleb came up to me and asked if we could go home. I wasn't sure what was going on at first, but then I realized that he was getting emotional! I told him that the movie wasn't over and that we needed to wait and see what happens. He sat next to me for the rest of the movie! I love my emotional little boy!
Then my Dad joined us, and we all enjoyed some cupcakes :) It was a really nice birthday overall!
