Almost 28 weeks pregnant!
So Baby Girl is definitely proving that things are different with every pregnancy! I've already noticed more back pain in my SI joints, sciatica, pelvic pressure, more heartburn, and more abdominal growing pains than I had with Caleb! I thought the growing pains would be much the second time around, but it's actually worse! It's been so bad that I actually bought a support belt today in hopes of alleviating some of the pain!
Also, I failed my one hour glucose test :( I felt really guilty for eating those 2 or 3 Dove dark chocolates everyday, but have realized that they're not to blame!! It's because my pancreas isn't producing enough insulin to regulate my blood sugar efficiently. A hormone produced by the placenta could be making me resistant to my own insulin! AWESOME! I have to take the 3 hour test next week, and I pray that I pass that! There is a whole slew of yucky side effects and possible labor complications if I continue to go into full blown type 2 diabetes :( I also pray that the lab has a wifi connection, because I plan on working on my shutterfly album on my laptop for the 3 hours I have to wait at the lab for my 4 blood tests :(
On to the good news!! Baby Girl has a name!!! I can't disclose of it on here just yet :) We have a few people that we need to share her name with them in person first! However, Caleb knows what it is, and says it so sweetly! I love it!
He's going to be such an awesome big brother! He picked out a pink seahorse for her, just like the one he has in teal! The tummy lights up and plays music, and he sleeps with it at night. He insisted on taking it out of the box so it can sleep with his seahorse and him, but I keep reminding him that she gets the pink one when she gets here!

Memorial Weekend in Kentucky
We made our annual trip to Kentucky this weekend! It was a smaller group than usual, but I think it was just what we needed! It was more low key and relaxing :) We went to dinner on Saturday night at Hofbrahaus, and grilled out on Sunday. It was hot and sunny all weekend long! Caitlin and I had fun soaking up some rays out on the deck, and then we all had fun watching Caleb enjoy the pool! Sunday night I snuggled Caleb on the couch while we watched Tarzan, and the rest of the crew played a few rounds of beer pong! We had a great breakfast Monday morning, and then loaded up the car for our ride back home. Caleb was an awesome traveler both ways!

From the Mouth of my Babe
Caleb is talking so much these days!! These are some of the latest things he's said that crack us up or make us shake our heads!
When talking about visitng Steven in Kentucky, we told Caleb he could see cows from Steven's house. His response was, "WHAAAAAT?!"
In the morning he helps feed his dogs. He knows that Riley gets three scoops and Reese and Bella get one scoop. Then he puts their bowls out and says, "noms noms."
When he gets frustrated with doing something, like putting his shoes on, he shouts out, "Can't do it!" I reassure him that he can do it and let him try a few more times. Before he gets too frustrated I ask him if he wants some help and we can do it together.
The last two times I've filled up his water table, he has ended up climbing into it! He brought in our new garden gnomes (yes we now have garden gnomes!) and said. "rub a dub dub! Take bath!"
When he gets really wound up he starts saying, "monkey see, monkey do" over and over again, super fast and does this crazy laugh!
He's started playing Ring Around the Rosie, and sings, "Ashes ashes, we all fall down!" We're working on the rest of the words!
He still spills the dog food or water a few times a week. I asked him to help me clean up the mess he made, and he ran and got the vacuum! I asked him why he spilled the food again and he said, "because I help you clean it up." I said I appreciate you helping me, but we don't need to make this mess! He said, "I sorry Mom." I asked if he was going to do it again, and he said no. I asked, "you promise?" and he said. "I promise." SO DANG CUTE!
Last week he asked to see my tummy. I said Baby Sister is in there. He said, "Need scissors...get her out!" I said, "Oh it's not time for her to come out yet! She needs to keep growing some more! And I hope to God we won't need scissors to get her out!" He now says that the doctor will help get her out :o)

Family Photo Shoot
We had Caleb's 2 year old pictures done with the same photographer who did his 1 year old photos. She is so talented!! She had asked me what was the goal of this photo shoot. I told her it was primarily Caleb's 2 year old pics, some family pics, and some pics with my growing tummy :) I love the way these turned out!

Riley's Results
Great news!! It's not cancer! Riley's biopsy results came back benign! Unfortunately the polyp will probably grow back again, and we may have to do another scope, but I'm just so thankful that's it's not cancer! I asked the vet if another scope could be a possibility, and am waiting for his response. It would be awesome if we could wait another year to make him do another scope, but we'll just have to wait and see! Thank you for everyones extra prayers :)
Happy Mother's Day
I had a great Mother's Day weekend! It's hard to believe it was my 3rd one! We had family pictures on Saturday morning, then Erik, Caleb, and I went out for breakfast at Honey Jam Cafe. It was nice to have a day with no plans! When we came home Caleb and I took a nap while Erik mowed the lawn.
On Sunday I was awakened by, "Happy Birthday!" And then, "Happy Mama's Day!" Lol! I opened cards from Erik, the dogs, and Caleb :) and then I got an unexpected present--a kindle fire! I'm excited to download some books!
Caleb and Erik made me some pancakes before we went to church. Church was really good! It was about making the most of the time you have with the people you love, because life is short and your influence on the people you are close to (especially if you are a parent) is huge. After church, Caleb napped in the car while Erik and I drove around and looked at dream homes :) We haven't done that in a while!
Then we went to Joy's house and hung out with our family. Lisa and Nick got me some tulips! So sweet! It was a gorgeous day outside! We had fun taking the kids to the park!
I love being a Mom! It is my greatest accomplishment yet, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I'm so grateful for Erik! Without him I wouldn't have become a Mom! I can't imagine my life without Caleb, and am looking forward to Baby Girl's arrival!
My Mom had to work on Mother's Day, but we exchanged gifts on Monday, and were treated to a Mother's Day lunch today by my Dad! I have the best Mom ever, and am so lucky to have such a great example teaching me how to be a good Mom!

From the Mouth of My Babe
Caleb says the best things!! Here a sample from today:
While talking about going in his swimming pool, he said that he needs "Umi Gobbles!" On his favorite show they use Umi Goggles when they need to look at certain things! I love when he says Umi Gobbles!!
He was so hungry waiting for his dinner tonight, so he began to impatiently whine. He said, "I sad." When I asked him why he was sad he replied, "Because Daddy doesn't love me." Erik and my I both dropped our mouths! "What!? Why would you say that?!" He didn't have an answer! He is always teasing his Daddy!!
We asked him a bunch of questions after dinner about his favorites. When we asked his favorite movie, he got very concerned, as if he couldn't watch all the others once he selected his favorite. He answered, "I don't know!" Then as if to let us know that he had had enough, he reached his arms out to me and said, "I need you."
Whenever he gets a bump of any kind he says, "Need checkup! Need doctor bag," and then digs out his doctor kit from his toy box!
When I ask him if he'll share anything with his little sister, he always has the same answer, "no!" When I ask him what she'll play with, or what she'll use, he responds with, "pink toys, or pink high chair!" Amazing how he knows that girls usually have pink things!

Poor Riley
Our first fur baby needs lots of prayers! Riley had a second colonoscopy yesterday because the bleeding with bowel movements has come back in the last two months. The vet said the scope went well, except for his blood pressure dropping with anesthesia. That of course worries me! The polyp they removed last September had regrown, except it grew back bigger and seemed to be a lumpier texture. They removed as much of it as they could with the scope.
The polyp is in an awful spot. If it was a little further out, like 3 cm, they could resect that part of his colon. Unfortunately they can't do that. If it was further in his colon, they could go through his abdomen to remove it, but they can't do that either. They'd have to break his pelvis to get to it, and we can't do that to him.
So sadly it seems like their isn't anything else we can do to help him. My heart is breaking. I would feel differently if he was 14 years old and all of this was happening, but he'll only be 9 in September. The vet said we'll get the biopsy results in a week, so we can see if it's still a pre-cancerous polyp, or if it's turned cancerous.
I'm praying it's not fully cancer. The only other bad thing would be if the polyp regrows again in a few months, and causes an obstruction. No matter how we look at this, it's not good. My poor Riley. Thankfully he's acting completely normal.
I told Erik I don't want to wait until it seems like he's near the end to start treating him extra special. He, and Reese & Bella, need to be treated that way everyday! I know we do a pretty good job loving on our dogs, but I know we can do better! I know they won't be around forever, and we need them to know how much we love and care about them!

Vanessa's Bridal Shower
One of my dear friends, Vanessa, who I've grown up with is getting married on July 14 in California! In case you forgot, that's Erik and my anniversary too!! I would have never guessed we'd end up sharing the same wedding date when we were friends in elementary school! Sadly, we won't be able to go to her wedding, because I'll be too pregnant to fly. I'm glad that her sister threw a Bridal Shower for her here in Chicago!! Everything looked great, and it was so fun to hang out with some old friends!
