Pumpkin Farm

We had a gorgeous day today, and an awesome time at the Pumpkin Farm!  We've gone a few times in previous years, but this year was special because we actually went through the entire farm, including the petting zoo!  When we got there, be had some apple cider doughnuts for breakfast.  Then we entered into the petting zoo area, and Caleb fed some goats, llamas, and ponies!  Then we got to see and hold the baby chicks!  That was my favorite part!  Then Caleb got to jump in some bouncy things, and went on the inflatable slide.  Right before Mila fell asleep, we went on a hay ride and little train ride.  At the end we went to look at some pumpkins!  Erik and I agreed, that even after we move, we're going to come back to "our" pumpkin farm!

From the Mouths of Our Babes

When talking about Halloween costumes, Caleb decided he wants to be Woody from Toy Story.  He said that Mila could be Jesse and Daddy can be Buzz!  I asked him, "Well who am I going to be?"  He replied, "You can be the pig!"  Laughing, I said, "Does Mommy look like a pig to you?!"  He answered, "Well no, but you're not wearing your costume yet!"

I told Caleb, "I'm going to get your buns," while chasing him around the house!  He said, "Mommy God gave me these buns.  They're mine.  You have your own buns!"  Hahahaha!

We were visiting with Grandma Joy on Saturday, and Caleb came over by her, sat in her lap, and sang, "Nationwide is on your side!" She was shocked!  Grandma Joy works for American Family!  What a little teaser!

Mila sounds like she says these words: brother, milk, bottle, cheese, and juice!

Mila ~ 13 months old

The past month has been the fastest!!    I feel like we just had her party!  Her personality grows so much each day!  She is so fun and expressive!

Mila weighs 21.5 lbs (50%) and is 29" tall (50%).
She does cheers with her cup!

She knows to go feet first to get off the couch or bed!
She says milk and pjs!

She puts out her hand with food to share, and when you get closer, she puts the bite in her mouth and smiles!

Mila nods yes when we ask her questions.
She does not like being buckled into her highchair, and cries in protest!

Caleb calls her Milachka (her Ukrainian nickname) and Baby Girl!
She will let you know when she is not happy, by either crying or yelling!

She fights her naps with all her might

She's been trying to eat with a spoon, using her right hand.

She does a fake cough.

Mila wants to do everything Caleb does!

One more thing I just thought of!  She's been doing this for a while.  She likes to pull her fingers along on books and things around the house to make them squeak.  It's hard to describe, but anyone who's seen her do it will know what I'm talking about!

What's Up

I thought things would slow down a bit after Mila's Birthday Party, but things are still full steam ahead!  It's also very difficult to work on the random odds and ends in the house with a 3 and 1 year old!  Hence the reason birthday thank yous are taking a lot longer to do this time around!!

There are so many little things that happen in our day, that make me think, "I don't want to forget this moment!"  I want to try and write them down, and I figured our blog was the perfect place!  These entries may seem like a hodge podge of things, but at least I'll be able to look back and remember when!!

Mila is starting to use Mama and Dada more!  I swear she also says brother, this, go, and Pj's!

Caleb has a great memory, and remembers buildings and locations when riding in the car.  He always points out the library, dunkin donuts, target, and the hospital where Mila was born!

Mila knows her head, hair, tongue, nose, ears, belly button, hands, and feet!

Caleb loves to sing and surprisingly remembers a lot of new songs he hears!

Caleb is SUCH A BOY!  Erik bought Mila some Disney fairy dolls for her birthday.  Sidenote:  I threw out all their teeny tiny shoes right away!  There is no way I'm going to keep track of those or put them on their teeny tiny feet!!  Besides, they're a choking hazard, right??  Well what did our boy discover in about 2 minutes?  The fairies have different colored underpants!  Hehehe!

When rocking Mila to sleep the other night, it hit me how big she and Caleb are!  Caleb doesn't rock in his chair anymore.  When we snuggle, I lay next to him in his bed.  It made me realize that I need to cherish my rocking sessions with Mila before she outgrows my arms too!

And of course, I know what everyone else wants when they read our blog...pictures :)

Happy 10th Birthday Riley!

I can't believe our first baby is 10 years old!  I have no idea where 10 years have gone!  That means it's also been about 10 years since we lived in Alabama!  I could see maybe 5, but 10!?!  Oh Riley Pouncer!  You still look and play like a pup, but are starting to slow down just a little bit :)  We love our big dog, and Caleb and Mila love him too!  He's very protective of them, but also likes to keep to himself when they're playing all crazy!  He's had his fair share of health problems, but I'm so grateful that he is doing all right!!  He's very loving and loyal!!
