WARNING: Don't drink anything while you are reading this post!!
During bath time tonight, Caleb was laying down in the tub. He told me, "my penis is sad." I wasn't sure if I heard him correctly, so I repeated it back to him. "Your penis is sad??" He said, "Yes, my penis is down because it's sad. When my penis is happy it goes up." I had to run out of the bathroom because I was dying laughing, and to grab my phone to call Erik!! When I came back into the bathroom, he was saying, "I don't know how to make him go up. He's just floating there!"

Happy Anniversary!
How has it already been 8 years? It really doesn't seem like 8 years have gone by since our wedding! Looking at our pictures, we look so young and well rested :) I still love him with all my heart! We got to go out to dinner together to celebrate, and it was so incredibly nice to spend a few hours alone together! That's so rare now a days! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Caleb and Mila, and cannot imagine our lives without them! We are so in love with them, and put so much energy in spending family time together, that we forget to leave any quality time for each other! We are definitely trying to work on that!
Our traditional gift this year was pottery or bronze. Since I like our gifts to be useful, neither of those would do! We looked at the modern gift which was linens! We really want to paint and decorate our bedroom, and I figured we need to get a new king sized comforter set! Right now we've been using the old queen set, which is definitely serving it's purpose, but we need to focus on making our room special to us! Again, we put the kids first and made sure their rooms were painted and decorated shortly after we moved in!! Hopefully we'll be able to pick out a new set in the next few weeks!!

From the Mouth of my Babe
Caleb told me he wanted to watch the movie, "Enchanted Meatballs." I said I've never heard of that one! Then I started thinking, and realized he meant, "Cloudy, with a chance of Meatballs!? Of course my kid would hear enchanted!!
They are building a house in the lot next to us. The kids have a great view out their bathroom window of everything that's going on! Caleb and I were looking outside and I said, I wish they would build us some sidewalks. (We were told our neighborhood would never have sidewalks when we closed on our house.) Well Caleb tells me, "Maybe when the construction guy pours the cement for the house, they can pour some cement and make us some gray sidewalks!"
He also had a question for the construction workers one day when we were watching outside. He asked, "When are you going to drive that vehicle?" He seriously amazes me!

Mila ~ 23 months old
Mila is one of the cutest, most adorable almost two year olds we know! She is so sweet and loving, but also sassy and spunky!
Caleb is her best friend! They still call each other Bro Bro and Sissy, and I love hearing it! I hope so badly that their special bond will continue as they grow older!
When I asked her what is Bro Bro's name, she tells me Cabeb John Gimmer!
She is always singing! She sings the last word of each line in Down by the Bay, and is starting to sing certain letters of the ABC's! Twinkle, twinkle is still her favorite!
She wants to be independent in everything she does, and I think it's because she wants to be a big kid, just like her big brother! She's always telling me, "Self!"
She is on a little hunger strike, and will only willingly drink chocolate milk and eat gold fish crackers!
When I ask her how old she's going to be, she always tells me 3 and holds up 5 fingers! Then when I say, "no, how old?" she says 2, but still with 5 fingers!
She uses her paci for nap time and bed time, but when we wake up in the morning, she puts it away in one of the kitchen drawers.
Some of her favorite things include: ponies (My Little Pony), Peppa Pig (a show on Nick Jr), Paw Patrol (a show on Nick Jr), and anything else her brother likes! She loves her baby dolls!
Mila's starting to color more! She usually calls it painting! Her favorite thing to draw and color are "work!" (fireworks!)
She responds to everything! When I call her, she says, "coming!" After she gets her shoes or pjs on, she exclaims, "Ready!"
Mila says thank you for everything, unprompted! We love it!!
She calls herself Mina!
She's very helpful with cleaning up toys!
It seems that Reese is her favorite dog! If Bella comes near her she always whines and tells her to move, but if it's Reese, she doesn't complain!
She picks up on emotions very well. I was upset and crying about something, and she said, "Mama hug!"
When I upload our pictures, she leans over to look at the computer and says, "aww cute!"
Her latest phrases include, "Need you," "Miss you," Bless you," and "Fun day!"
I cannot believe Mila will be 2 next month! I love our little girl so incredibly much!

From the Mouths of my Babes
Mila has been trying to say knock knock jokes like her big brother! She says:
Knock knock.
(Who's there?)
Monkey!
(Monkey who?)
No Monkeys Bed!
She's so stinkin cute!!
After dinner tonight, we walked around a park with Pops and Nana in downtown Geneva. It was the first time Caleb caught lightening bugs! He and Mila loved it! I was shocked she actually held one because she's usually afraid of bugs! I had one of her pacifier containers in the diaper bag, so Caleb caught one in there and asked to bring it home! These are the things he said:
"I love my new lightening bug friend!"
"This was the best night ever, catching my first lightening bug!"
When he was half asleep, I carried him into the house. He woke up enough to go potty, and said, "Mom that was the best night ever." I told him that I let his lightening bug out in the backyard so he could join his new family, just like he told me he was going to do. I was nervous he might freak out, but instead he said, "Mom that was your best idea ever! It was good you let him out so he didn't suffocate!" LOL!! I didn't even know he knew that word!

4th of July!
Our favorite holiday!! We got lucky and saw fireworks on two nights!! It was so nice to be home for 4 days! I wish every holiday could be on a Friday!! Thursday night we went to fireworks in Roselle. Mila loved them!! When they were done she shouted, "more works!"
On Friday, it was gorgeous outside, and I hate to admit it, but we napped away the afternoon! In the evening, we went over to Pops and Nana's for a cookout with the family! We were all surprised by another fireworks show right in their backyard! It was awesome! Then the kiddos and I snuggled by the fire in the gazebo, and had fun talking with Lisa and Gail.
On Saturday we took the kids to the pool for a little swim. It was a little chilly, but they had a great time swimming around for a half hour or so! They fell asleep on the car ride home, and I had a good chat with Natalie! After dinner we went out for frozen yogurt!
On Sunday, Grandma Joy picked up the kiddos and took them to the 4th of July parade! Erik and I got to spend the afternoon with some friends at the pool! It was so nice to be able to have some adult conversation, and actually get to relax by the pool! It was a full and fun weekend!!

Together Forever
I went downstairs after tucking the kids in, but I heard Mila calling out for me. As I came into Caleb's room (where they both sleep), I saw him hugging her and telling her something, which made her react with excitement. I asked him what he told her, and he said, "I told her not to worry, that big brother is here, and that we'll be together forever." He melts my heart :)
