Caleb's Reconciliation
Caleb and I had a wonderful afternoon celebrating his first reconciliation! Sadly, Daddy had to work and didn't get to go with us. All of the parents went to confession as well. It was kind of funny that all of the kids wanted to go into the confessional boxes, instead of confessing face-to-face! Afterwards, we shared a special lunch at McDonald's, and he got to enjoy his first McFlurry! After lunch he picked out a book and dragon at the bookstore. When we picked up Mila, he exclaimed, "Mommy and I don't have any sins!" 😁 I loved my special time with our boy! So proud of how he's preparing for his 1st Communion!

I want to remember
Caleb was talking about how babies get their nutrients through the umbilical cord. He then asked about what happens to the cord when a baby is born. I told him that the Daddy's have a choice to cut the cord if they want. He got so excited and started screaming that he'll get to cut the cord!
Mila knows how much we love Alabama, that she keeps getting mixed up when I quiz her on what state we live in!
While at the pet store, Caleb is trying to convince me to get him a lizard. I told him that I don't think we're ready for that yet, but maybe we can get him a fish when he turns 8. He then tells me, "Mom, I'm a Reptile Guy!"
Mila thinks that glasses are cool, and has a pair of plastic ones she wears on the weekend!
Caleb is getting older :( At night, he'll read his chapter book in bed, and fall asleep on his own now. I'm lucky that there are still some nights he asks me to lay by him and snuggle!!
Mila turns around 3 times to show me her "I love you" hands and screams I love you Mommy while running into school!
Conversation with Caleb last night while getting ready for bed: "Mom, I know you're a real caring person. I know this because you're always taking care of everybody and putting others first, but sometimes it's important to put yourself first." I smiled and asked him where he heard that, thinking he saw something on my Facebook feed! He said, "oh I just made that up!"
Mila is going to start losing her baby teeth! She has 3 loose teeth, and loves telling everyone!
When I asked Mila if she wanted to add any prayers tonight, she said, "I love you God. Thank you for making me."
At dinner one night, Caleb asked for a drum roll, and shouted out, "We're starting cursive in school!!"
One night I asked Caleb is there were any girls he liked in his class. He told me, "well, I have the bride list!" I had to hold back my laughter! He explained that there are 2 girls, and he'd marry one of them! I told him I didn't think we needed to worry about marriage just yet! He replied, "yah I have to think about dating first!" Then I asked him why he liked these girls? He told me that they looked nice! I quickly asked him if that was all?? Then he quickly adjusted his answer. He said they were nice looking and had nice attitudes! I made sure to focus on how the attitudes matter the most!
At the beginning of the year, I talked to the kids about resolutions. I told them that I needed to do more things that scare me. After school we were going to a new car wash. I wasn't exactly sure how it worked, which made me a little anxious. I told them that I was going to just go and figure it out! Mila was so cute from the back seat, and asked me if I wanted to hold her hand!! Then while we went through the car wash, she quietly asked me, "Mommy, can you hold my hand?" Love how sweet she is!
Mila calls the garbage disposal the garbage exploser! She also called construction paper instruction paper!
