Caleb was recalling something about one of his preschool classmates named McKinley. I said it was sweet he still remembered things about his former classmates. Then he got a big goofy smile on his face. I said what are you thinking about buddy? He replied, "I'm never going to forget about Justene!"
While telling Mila that I ordered a surprise for her birthday, she looked up at me and very seriously said, "And cake?" I started laughing! I said, yes there'll be cake! Then I asked her what kinds of gifts she'd like for her birthday. She responded with, "Punzel stuff." Then I asked her what kinds of things she liked to do. In the middle of coloring she told me, "This." LOL! She cracks me up!
Caleb already has all of Halloween planned out! He told me that he wants to make and decorate cookies, then go trick or treating at Uncle Jay and Auntie Tina's house. He wants Erik and me to be blue whales, Mila a fish, and he'll be a shark! Then he told me we needed to make a list! He is his mother's son! When I asked Mila if she wanted to be a fish, she whined, "Noooo Punzel!"
While getting ready for a wedding, I asked Mila which heels went better with my dress. She very seriously replied, "You wear those Mama, and you will trip and fall!" She knows me too well!
I caught Mila talking out loud today, and realized she was pretending to talk to someone. As I peeked around and looked at her, I realized she was talking to her fingers! I asked her about it and she told me, "Mama I talking to my fingers!" She told them about how she misses her paci, and then hugged her hands!

I Want to Remember
Caleb:
He ALWAYS wants to help us! He's so sweet and thoughtful! Of course there are times he wants to help when we could just do it in half the time, but we have to remember that he's learning, and we need to be patient!
There have been two occasions where he's gotten upset, and runs off by himself. When I try to talk to him, he tells me, "I just want to be alone!" Ummm nope, not yet buddy! So not doing this yet! I tell him that he can always tell me anything, and I don't want him to be alone if he's upset! He does tell me, but after some prying!
He is beyond excited for Kindergarten!! Every night when I tell him we need to get to bed earlier, he asks if school is starting the next day! I told him not yet, but that we have to get used to our school bedtime! He also told the checkout lady at Target that he's starting Kindergarten! I'm glad that he is so excited for school! We tried on his uniform, and he looks so darn handsome!
He did awesome at his school physical! He had to get two shots, and didn't cry at all! He is almost 3'9"tall (moving into the foot measurements!) and weights about 48 lbs. He's in the 60th percentile for height, and 85 percentile for weight.
He remembers EVERYTHING, and also remembers how old he was at the time of that memory. We were watching a Land Before Time movie, and he said he remembered watching it once before. I asked him when and he replied, "when I was 3." Sure enough, Erik answered at the same time, "2 years ago." Then he reminded me that we said we would trying camping in the backyard this summer. I asked him when did I say that, and he said, "when you were 33 and I was 4!"
He is really into dinosaurs! We got a dinosaur backpack and lunch bag for school! He's already telling people that his 6th birthday party is going to be, "his favorite movie that Mommy won't let him watch!" Jurassic Park! LOL :)
Mila:
She is getting excited for preschool! I keep telling her how many new friends she's going to meet, and how she'll be bringing home art projects, just like Caleb did! I hope and pray that she will go into class without tears on her 1st day!
Her latest phrase is, "yeah sure." She uses it all day long when I ask her is she wants to do something!
When she gets excited about something she's accomplished, she says, "oh yeah, oh yeah!"
When falling asleep, she asks me to rub her back and sing the Mockingbird song, the Sunshine song, and then Caleb and her songs that I made up when they were born.
We are phasing out the paci! She hasn't slept with it for the past 3 nights! We've done a good job distracting her with stories that she hasn't asked for it! A few times she asked for it during the day, but we just say that we don't have it or the baby bunnies are using it. She told my Mom that she's been waiting for her paci, but that Mama Bunny hasn't brought it back yet! MY HEART IS BREAKING! I'm the one that decided we needed to get rid of it because I felt she was relying on it too much, but it still hurts! It's just a gigantic reminder that she is less of a baby!
She has been doing a really good job learning about her peanut allergy. It still stresses me out beyond belief and kills me that she even has to think about it all the time :o( However she'll ask me if something has peanuts in it before I serve it to her. Also Caleb is constantly pointing things out that may not be safe for her. As sad as it makes me that we have to do this, I'm glad to know that she's somewhat understanding.
Both:
They have been playing family with Mila's Frozen Anna doll. Caleb is Kristoph, Mila is Anna, and her doll is Anya, their baby! The other day they took Anya to the zoo. They took out all of their animals figurines and set them up in different exhibits! Then Caleb announced they were taking her to the aquarium. He took out all of our Tupperware and put a sea creature in each "tank!" I love how creative they are when they play together!!
They love swimming!! They both still use their arm floaties, but they're both very comfortable in the water! We have to force them out of the water when we see their lips shivering! I remember I was the same way with the pool and swimming in the summer! We definitely need to get them into swim lessons sooner than later!
