23 months old

Caleb will do anything to avoid going to sleep!  At some nap times, he can force a poop so I have to take him out of his crib to change him!  It’s ridiculous!  At bed time, the various things he asks for include water, juice, cheese, read, poop, and will get on the floor and ask for a change!!


He’s learning how to jump, and loves to practice on our bed!


He likes to watch the Fresh Beat Band, a show about a group of four friends who have a band and sing and dance.  He asks to watch the “beats,” play his guitar, and sings with his microphone.

Caleb has started to say two and three syllable words!  We’re amazed with the words he’s able to say!  Some new words include: zeeb (zebra), Sim (Simba), king, sheep, “got it”, mix, lid, Erik, lotion, playdoh, butter, Lion King, cookie, pancake, turkey, purple, magazine, letters, dinner, excuse me, sushi, Sosie, (cousin Sophie), samily room, sas sorwar (fast forward), amimal crackers, legos, and movie.


He’s really getting good at his colors and shapes!  We're working on letters and numbers :)

He loves the Lion King and everyday asks to watch his movie. 1.) It’s a good thing it’s a movie I like. 2.) He makes me fast forward any parts with Scar or hyenas, so we don’t have to watch the whole thing every day :o)



This boy is going to live in his pool this summer! Every day he takes out his pool toys and tries to get some water to play with. He also asks for a bath every night!

He picked up two of the dog rope toys, bent over, and started curling his arms. He exclaimed, “cise!” He was exercising!!


He says, "louse you" for love you!  So adorable!



I’m surprised at his use of “ing” words! He’s always telling me, “cooking, eating, sitting, climbing, swimming, and coming!

He’s starting to say potty more.  He doesn’t tell me before he goes in his diaper, but will ask to go a few times throughout the day.  I don’t feel he’s technically ready for "potty training," but I can tell he’s starting to get the concept a little more.  We’re following his cues!

Grandma Joy made the mistake of calling Riley a big butt one day, when he was stepping all over Caleb’s blocks. Guess who walked around the rest of the night saying big butt?! Yep, our little parrot, Caleb!  Luckily, he forgot it by the next day, but this story just cracked me up!

He can’t pronounce the letter F, and instead says those words with an S. So he says sone (phone), sog (frog), sies (fries), microshone (microphone),

Ours names now are Mommy and Daddy, not just Mom and Dad! Everything is two syllables!


He says, “Bless You,” when I sneeze! So cute!!

My Dad has been teaching Caleb some Ukrainian words.  He can say yes, please, and love you in Ukrainian, and actually answers my Dad in Ukrainian when the answer is yes! 


We can't believe Caleb is going to be 2 years old next month!!  I'm so glad I've continued his updates, so I can remember all of the little things!  It's amazing how much he has learned and changed in a year!
