From the Mouths of my Babes

Mila's latest phrases include, "Can't," "Nothing," "Stop it," and  "That thing."  "That thing" is my favorite because that's what she says if she isn't sure what something is called!

Caleb was afraid to go poop for a couple of days.  He finally went after like 5 days, and I told him, "See it wasn't that bad!  It didn't even hurt!  Wouldn't it have been better to go a few days ago!?"  He replied with. "Mom, going poop is just like having babies.  Sometimes it's better to just wait a few days until it's ready to come out!"  Hahahaha!

While thinking about his next birthday party (yes it's still 6 months away!) Caleb told me that he thinks he'd like a dinosaur party.  He then went on to tell me that he doesn't think we can have it at our house, because dinosaurs were bigger than our house, and that there won't be enough room for a party here.  He pointed out that we should have his party at Chuck E Cheese, because that is much bigger than our house!  He is such a salesman!

Best Feeling in the World

Miss Mila has been fighting her naps lately, which I feel guilty about because I know she needs to sleep, but I so do enjoy spending special time with her while Caleb is at school.  She is talking so much now, and has the sweetest voice!  We snuggled on the couch together this afternoon, attempting a nap.  I read some books to her, and I was surprised that she picked up on alphabet letters after just reading through the book once!  I tried to just lay there and snuggle her, but she kept sitting up and talking away for an hour!  I kept tickling her and she just kept giggling over and over!  Then she tried to tell me that I needed to nap, and put her paci in my mouth!  Trust me my dear, I would have gladly napped!!

Then after Caleb came home from school we baked our first pumpkin dessert all together!  It went surprisingly well!!  Caleb told me that before we baked he wanted to do an experiment.  He is always wanting to mix one thing or another!  I told him that baking with Mommy is exactly like an experiment!!  Haha!!  As we put it into the oven, and I told him we should say a little prayer that our pumpkin cake would turn out well!  Well it did, and he was so proud and excited to eat it!

1st Day of Preschool (2nd year)

Caleb began his 2nd year of preschool at Hosanna!  He is in the afternoon session, four days a week.  He goes from 12:15-3:00pm Monday-Thursday.  I wasn't thrilled with the afternoon assignment, but it's actually working really well for our family!  We get to play before school, then I get Mila time or Mila gets a nap while he's at school, then we get to play some more before dinner!
His teachers are Teacher Kathryn and Teacher Joyce.  There are 16 kids in his class, 8 boys and 8 girls!
On the first day I recognized one of the Dad's!  He went to grade school with me, and played soccer with Erik!  Also, they're not in Caleb's class, but two other kids' parents also went to school with me!  Pretty cool!
Caleb already has a best friend!  Her name is Justene, and he ran after her on the 3rd day to say goodbye to her!
Surprisingly I wasn't sad on his first day!  I'm sure next year will be a different story.  Caleb will be in Kindergarten, and Mila will be starting preschool!  I thought that I would really miss him being gone for three hours, but between driving back and forth, it's only 2 hours, and honestly flies by!
