Mila ~ 1 and 1/2 years old!

Mila still wears size 4 diapers and size 18 months clothes!  I'm excited to see how much she weighs and how tall she is at her next appointment!

Mila is ready for bed between 7:45 and 8:00pm, and will usually sleep until 7:00am.  She takes one nap a day, usually around 12:00, and naps between 1.5 to 3 hours.

We put away the crib last week and set up a twin "big girl" bed in her room.  She has a taken a few naps in it, but we still have her sleeping with Caleb at night.
She LOVES books!  She's always pulling books off the bookshelf and sitting in our laps so we can read to her!

She is obsessed with the "I Like to Move It" song!  I usually play it for her on my laptop, so when she's in my arms and we walk by the laptop, she points at it and says, "move!"  If I say no she whines for it and has started crying for it!  When it's on, she has the biggest smile on her face and dances
along!

She also sings along to the Frozen song, "Let It Go."  She says "go" right when she hears the melody, and then babbles along to the song!
She loves babies, her dollies and real ones alike!  She has two baby dolls that she pushes around in their stroller, gives bottles to, and burps!  When she sees her baby cousin Scarlett, she wants to give her a bottle, tries to hug her really tight, and tries to tickle her!
Poor thing runs every where, and tries to do everything her brothers does, which leads to lots of head bumps and bruises!  I cringe every time I see her fall.  She is tough, but I could so do without the head injuries!!

Mila is also obsessed with eating cheese!!  She asks for it at every meal!  I think it may have something to do with the deli drawer being at her eye level every time we open the fridge!  LOL!
Mila is a fish in the tub, even more than Caleb, if that's even possible!!  She will lay back my herself and kicks her legs when I ask her to show me how she swims!
She is almost done using a bottle.  For the most part, she will go a whole day using a sippy cup, but she's been sick lately, and we notice she definitely drinks more when she uses a bottle.  We have to keep pushing her fluids to get over this yucky cold!

Sometimes when she poops, she comes up to me, pats her diaper and says boo boo.  At first I thought something was hurting her, but then I realized it's just how she says poop!  Then other times I have to wait until Caleb tells me she's a stinker and that she pooped!  Haha!

Mila has 12 teeth, and gives us the best smiles!!
Mila is fiesty!!  There's no hiding what's on her mind!  She will tuck her chin down and stick out her bottom lip when she's unhappy or doesn't want to do something!  When I tell her no, she will either start to cry or just lay down face into the ground!  It's very difficult not to laugh!

Mila says a ton of words!  We swear she says a new word every day!  A few of them are: blue, green, bear, duck, cookie, please, Reese, Ri Ri, Bell, Minnie, bow, Milli, brush, remote, phone, cat and baby.  She loves to say no!!  And when I ask her what she said, she says no again and laughs!

On the day she said blue and green, we were playing with her colored shapes and she knew which ones were blue and green!  I was so surprised!
She still absolutely adores her big brother!  When we pick him up from preschool she runs up to him with a hug!  It's the cutest thing!
I can't believe our baby girl is one and a half years old!  With every passing day she is becoming more of a toddler!  We are so proud of how beautifully she's growing, but are also a little sad that she's not really a baby anymore.  We love her so incredibly much, and cannot imagine our lives without her!

Caleb's 1st Day of Preschool

Erik brought home doughnuts for a special breakfast this morning.  Caleb ate 2!  I have no idea how! He picked out his clothes, and we got ready to go.  I didn't cry today, but I teared up a little in the car. When we started driving I put on our Frozen CD, and put on the "Let it Go" song.  Caleb says that this is our song :)  He smiled the biggest smile at me in the rear view mirror!  I told him I love you Caleb, and he said, "I love you so much Mommy!"  Such a sweetheart!  My little boy is getting so big!

He wanted a jumping picture!
When I picked him up from school I asked him how it went and he said, "It was great!  I asked him what they learned about today and he said astronauts!    Sure enough the teacher told us that they started their outer space lesson this week!  On our way out of the building, several kids said bye Caleb! They were so sweet!  I think he'll have a bunch of new friends in no time!!  We're so proud of our little boy!!

New Beginnings

I can't believe we've been in our new house for one whole month now!  Little by little, I'm getting more used to it!  I absolutely love it, and am grateful that this is our new home, but it still doesn't feel quite like home yet.  I think that'll take a little more time.  Every weekend I want to try and hang up some pictures, but every weekend we seem to run out of time!  I think that will help a lot!

We moved Mila into a big girl bed...sort of :)  She doesn't sleep well in her crib.  She usually wakes up once or twice during the night, and then is awake at 5:30 am! Once Caleb's room was painted and put together, we would let them fall asleep together in his full sized bed.  I told Erik, I'm not sure if it's the bars on the crib, or the super firm mattress, but I think it's time to try a twin bed for Mila.  We got it all set up in her room last weekend.  She's napped in there once, but we've let her continue to sleep with Caleb.  I'm seriously scared to ruin a good thing!  They fall asleep together around 8:30, and sleep until 7:30 am!  AND they are just so darned cute together!!

The week after we moved, I started researching preschools for Caleb.  Everyone I talk to must think I'm nuts, because I was so stressed out about choosing the right school.  I know it's just  preschool, but to me it's the foundation for his education!  See...nuts!!  I'm worried that if he doesn't like it, he won't like school for the rest of his life!

Well we finally decided on Hosanna Preschool!  They are a church based school about 7 minutes from the house, and had an opening for him to start in the 2 days a week class right now!!  In my mind I thought he had to wait until the fall, and I was actually worried I wouldn't be able to find any park district or other classes for him to do with other kids!  When the school asked if we wanted to start now, I was sold!  He officially starts Preschool on Tuesday!!

I asked him to tell my parents what school he will be going to, and with the biggest smile on his face he said, "Hosanna Preschool!"  My Mom asked him if he knew what Hosanna meant, and he said, "Yes, it means God!"  I love him so much!  Here is a video of him counting to 100 for the first time!  Don't worry I started taping at 71 :)  My phone was having technical difficulties, and wouldn't stop taping, so you can stop watching after 2:20!!
