The kids have been doing swim lessons for most of the summer and are loving them!! We are going to the Bartlett Park District, where I taught swim lessons over 15 years ago!! It was very cool to be on the other side of swim lessons :)

Celebrating 10 Years
I cannot believe that we are celebrating our 10-year anniversary this year! Erik was in charge of planning something for us to do, and made reservations for us at the Wit Hotel downtown. It's a Double Tree hotel which is the same kind of hotel we had for our wedding! It was so nice just to hang out and talk without any interruptions! Every year we say that we need to do that more often!
The traditional gift this year was tin, aluminum, and diamonds. I made him a Date Night "Tin." I filled it with 10 different date ideas. I really hope we get to do all 10 before our next anniversary! I also wrapped up some aluminum cans of his favorite summer beer, and included some Dove chocolates wrapped in foil!
I hope and pray that my date night tin gift helps us spend more time together! We always say we need to do that more, and I hope we actually do!

My gifts included an aluminum sign that says, "love you more," an aluminum clock that says, "celebrating 10 years," and an aluminum heart necklace with a 10 on it. My best surprise was an anniversary band! I did not expect that at all, especially because I took my original rings in for a "check-up," and after 10 years, they were in bad shape and needed a lot of work! I told Erik that the price for fixing my original rings could be my "diamond" gift this year! I was shocked when I opened his gift! It really meant a lot to me!
We had fun just walking around downtown!
We enjoyed a fun dinner on the Wit rooftop! It was funny because we both thought that we'd be excited for a late night out, and halfway through dinner we both said we were tired and were fine going back to the room early!I hope and pray that my date night tin gift helps us spend more time together! We always say we need to do that more, and I hope we actually do!

Indy Family Weekend
We spent the weekend in Indiana for cousin Christina's Bridal Shower. We stayed at Erik's cousin Joe's house. Lisa was going to stay at cousin Melody's house, but a busted air conditioner had us all staying at Joe's house, and I couldn't have been any happier! I love when we all sleepover together! I love waking up and having breakfast together! I love grilling out and hanging out with everyone!
We also got to meet baby Matthew! The kids were so excited to meet him!
We even got to see our long time friend Cramer from grad school! It was great to see him and catch up!
The Bridal Shower had a Hawaiian theme since the couple will be going to Hawaii for their honeymoon. It was a fun family weekend!

Happy 4th of July
We had a really fun 4th of July weekend! On Sunday the 3rd, we went to the Bartlett parade. My dad marched with the VFW, and was actually the head of the parade! The kids thought it was pretty cool and special that Dido was in the parade! When he was done marching he came and sat by us and we enjoyed the rest of the parade together!
In the afternoon we went to Pops and Nana's house for a cookout and fun with all of the cousins! We all had so much fun just hanging out. We finished off the evening with s'mores, and once the kids were asleep we had our traditional beer pong game.
On the 4th, we took the kids to the carnival. Caleb went on a couple of the rides, and then Mila went on the Fun Slide with me. We then watched the fireworks with my mom and dad. The kids absolutely love the fireworks as much as we do!
