Natalie is home for the week! Well actually she's home till February 1st! She's helping her best friend with last minute weddings things before her big day next Saturday! Then she'll be home for my first baby shower next Sunday! I'm so excited she's home for that!
She saw my big tummy for the first time last night! She walked in, looked at my stomach, gave me a hug, and started to cry! She put her hands on my stomach right away and just screamed out! Then she asked if she could see my bare stomach! I lifted up my shirt and she put her cold hands on my stomach! I said, "We need to warm up those hands first!" She started laughing, but still kept her cold hands on my belly!
We had fun trying to feel him move around after dinner. She had her hand on my stomach, when all of a sudden she goes, "I think I just felt gas in your stomach!" Haha! We couldn't stop laughing! It was fun going to dinner with her and Mom.
We're getting really excited for our upcoming baby showers! I can't believe we only have 9 more weeks to go! Hopefully I'll have some more pictures to post soon! He's definitely taking up more space inside of my belly! After I eat, I can feel him under my ribs! It's becoming difficult for me to get comfortable at night. Erik says that I toss and turn a lot. Also, there's been nights when I can't sleep because I'm thinking of the things we need to do in the upcoming weeks! I woke up to use the bathroom earlier in the week, and panicked because I hadn't pre-registered at the hospital yet!

Erik and I attended Childbirth Education Class this weekend. Saturday was from 8:30-3:30, and Sunday 9:00-12:00. The class flew by! It was very informative about what to expect with labor and delivery, and some tips for newborn care . I feel a little more confident and more prepared about having this baby boy! While some people may not want to know all the details, I'm not really a "learn-as-you-go" type of person! As everyone knows, I like to have a plan!
Our instructor was a labor and delivery nurse, and she was awesome! I would have loved to sign her up now if it was possible! I hope I get someone as wonderful as her!
Erik did a great job with swaddling the baby doll. Of course, he says it was because the blanket was a White Sox blanket! Haha! I also pointed out how great he was at changing the diaper! With an estimate of 8-12 diapers a day, I'm sure we'll both get lots of practice!
We took a tour of the labor and delivery rooms, and took a quick peek in the nursery. When they opened the door for us to look in, one little one had become unswaddled, and was quite unhappy. Erik and I just looked at each other and had the biggest smiles. I told him, "With hearing those cries, I want to cry right now because I'm so excited!" With each passing week, this little boy is becoming more real!

So Tuesday was an aggravating day at work. When I came home I was still in a grumpy mood, no matter how much Erik tried to make me laugh. On top of that, I was feeling rather large! He just laughed and me and said, "Babe you're not fat, you're pregnant!!"
Well the next morning when we were getting ready for work, I told him, "You know, I was even irritated in my dreams last night!" He said, "Yeah I could tell. You were talking in your sleep!" I laughed and asked what I said? He said, "You kept saying it's so big!" We both laughed! He said, "You're worried about your growing belly even while you sleep!"

Happy New Year!
We had a great Christmas gathering with my Mom and Dad on the 27th. The four of us went to the movies to see the Chipmunks Squeakquel! I really wanted to see it! It was so cute!!! I love their little voices! Theodore was my favorite!! Then we came home, opened presents, and had a delicious traditional Ukrainian dinner! It was so nice that Mom had cooked everything! We even got to open our presents from Natalie and Eric while talking to them on the phone!
On New Year's Eve, Erik and I had our 27 week checkup! My Mom and Erik's Mom came with us to see their grandson's ultrasound! He looks right on track with his growth, and did a good job looking right at the camera for us! Mom asked the doctor, "and it's still a boy right?" The doctor pointed out that's it's still a boy, and Mom said, "Awww!" I started laughing!
I also had to do my glucose test that morning. I had to drink a really sugary orange drink, and then have my blood drawn to check for gestational diabetes. Even though I couldn't drink anything else, at least I got to rinse out my mouth with some water! I told my Mom, "I swear I'm getting cavities as we speak!"
Baby Grimmer weighs about 2 and a half pounds! And Mom's weight is also on track! :o) We can't believe that we have 12 more weeks to go! We're so very excited! We just keep praying that he'll keep growing steadily and will continue to be healthy! Our next checkup will be in 4 weeks, and then after that we will have to go back every 2 weeks!
Our New Year's Eve was perfect! Erik and I cooked dinner together (steak, shrimp, roasted potatoes and veggies), ate on our china, and toasted with some sparkling grape juice for me, and some wine for Erik! I was in my PJ's by 6:30! Haha! I don't think I could have gone out for the evening even if I wanted to! I ended up falling asleep from 9:00-11:30! Then Erik woke me up so I could watch the countdown with him! We turned on the Christmas lights in the family room, and just relaxed with each other! It was a great way to spend out last New Year's Eve as just the two of us!
