Caleb ~ 3 1/2 years old

Caleb is 3'3" tall, weighs 38 lbs, is wearing size 3T-4T, and size 9 shoes!

He loves to help us cook!

His favorite things to eat are pancakes, cheerios, PB & J sandwiches, chicken, noodles, rice, apples, broccoli,  green beans, crackers, and he definitely has a sweet tooth!

His favorite movie is Epic.

Caleb is very into singing, and remembers a lot of things!  He learned the entire Our Father in 3 days!  And knows the melody and half the words to Yea Alabama!

He calls Mila "Sissy" and "Milachka!"  He absolutely adores her!  He shares all of his toys with her, and is even semi patient when she takes things away while he's playing!

He is in Puddle Jumpers 4, the 90 minute pre-preschool class, once a week.  We debated for a while if we should start preschool at 3 or 4 years old.  When it was time to sign up for this preschool year, we were looking at houses and moving, and didn't want to move him in the middle of the preschool year.  It turns out we will be moving (I'll write another post about that soon), and will be looking at where Caleb can go to preschool when he turns 4!  He's doing a great job in Puddle Jumpers 4, and is really learning how to share and take turns!

Caleb took swim lessons this past summer and loved it!!  He continues to be such a little fish!  He loves going underwater, and is very close to swimming underwater!

One of his favorite places to go is the Children's Museum, and he asks to go there everyday!

He tells me that his three best friends are Kaitlin, Liam, and Lindsay.  Kaitlin is the daughter of one of my friends from high school, Liam is the son of one of my childhood family friends, and Lindsay is a girl he met in Puddle Jumpers 2!  He actually hasn't seen Lindsay in a few months, but he still tells me she is his girlfriend!

He's still very attached to ears and pacis at nap and bed time.  He'll tell me that he's going to try to not use it at night, and gets excited to not use it, but then changes his mind.  I'm not stressing about it!  It's his security thing at night.  Other kids have stuffed animals or blankies, and he has his paci.

He continues to be a good sleeper at night, and is starting to drop his nap.  We're trying to get him to still lay down after lunch, just for some resting time!

Caleb can spell his first and middle name!

I cannot believe our little boy is 3 and a half years old!!  We're really trying to cherish every day with him, even when he's being super defiant :)  Before we know it, he'll be in school and we won't have as many hours in a day to spend together!!  We love him so incredibly much!!

From the Mouths of Our Babes

Unbelievable!  I was reprimanding Caleb for something he just did, and he looks at me and said these things, "Mommy, I just need lovin.  Can we still be friends?"  Then he gave me a hug and said, "There, now do you feel better?  I had to walk away so he wouldn't see me laughing!

When Erik got home tonight, I tried on a dress that I had bought today.  Caleb was in our room and said, "That dress looks nice Mommy!  You look cute!"  Then he jumped off the bed and said, "Mommy will you dance with me?"  LOVE my sweet boy!

While in the bathroom I heard a noise.  I called out, "Caleb, where's Mila?"
He said, "By me."
I said, "Where are you?"
He answered, "By her!"
OBVIOUSLY!!

20 questions with Caleb, 3 1/2 years old

Caleb has been into motioning, using sounds, or drawing when he communicates!  He's been doing this for about 2 weeks, and there are times when I say, "please use your words!!!"  More than half of his questions were answered in this way!

Mila ~ 14 months old

I love how she runs up to me and wraps her arms around my legs to give me a hug!

She loves to play chase with Caleb!  She screams out laughing!

She gets really scared when all the dogs bark at once!  She stops in her tracks and starts screaming and crying!

She loves to brush her teeth, and says "brush" when she sees tooth brushes!

She wants to do everything her brother does!

Mila loves kleenex and baby wipes!  She walks around shredding the kleenex, and she cleans the house with the wipes!

She is ridiculously dramatic!  If she wants something, or doesn't want something, or is basically unhappy, she cries and throws herself to the floor!  It is a little too much for this Mama to handle, but I'm trying to learn how to soothe her or accept it :)

She click her tongue!

Mia loves butterfly kisses from her Daddy!

She runs to the dog food container and hits it to let us know to feed the dogs!  She also runs to the back door when I let the dogs out, as if she's helping me!

Her "Mommy" separation anxiety is still in full effect!  On Saturday, Erik was going to take her for her nap.  She was crying when he went to change her diaper, but did settle down.  Well I didn't want her to see me before she went to nap, so I hid in another room.  I was worried that Erik would try to ask me something, because Mila will start crying even if she hears my voice!  Well he knew what I was thinking, because he called out, "We're going for a nap.  Clap two times if that's ok!"  I started clapping, and had to hold back my laughter!  THAT's how ridiculous she is!!

She's starting to make some more animal sounds!  She can bark, meow, and make monkey sounds!  However, her growl is still the best!

She has been sleeping through the night for the most part, going to bed between 8 and 8:30, and sleeping till 6, but 2-3 nights during the week, she'll wake up and cry out in the middle of the night or wake up at 5am!  I've tried putting books in her crib, like I used to do for Caleb, but she won't even open them!  She just wakes up, stands up, and starts crying!  Oh Mila!!  No matter how tired I am, I'm still happy to see that crying little face!
