Our 14th Anniversary

Fourteen years on the 14th!!  It was sort of our "Golden Anniversary," and the modern gift for this year was gold.  I thought that was kind of cool!  We were lucky to both be home to celebrate today.  In the morning, Erik wanted me to open one of my presents right away.  He bought me a new mug that says "forever newlyweds."  So cute!

Of course he wanted to exchange the rest of our gifts and cards right away!  The traditional gift for 14 years is ivory.  What kind of an ivory gift do you get a man?!  I struggled for a little bit, but then had a great idea!  I bought him Ivory soap body wash and Goldtoe socks!  I also bought him white Adidas slides.  He got my traditional anniversary rose from a different place!  It was ivory and gold and was really pretty!  He did a great job and also bought us ivory bed sheets.  We had a good laugh when we tried to make the bed, and the sheets looked too small!  He had bought "Split King" sheets!  It was basically for 2 twin beds pushed together!  He was so mad!  I couldn't help but laugh!

In the afternoon, we golfed 9 holes at Apple Orchard.  That's were we had our first date!  I did alright.  I told Erik I'd be really good if I knew what I was doing!  I'm pretty athletic, but I don't know anything about form with golfing!

In the evening we went out to dinner at Gia Mia.  We love this place!  They have my favorite appetizer, honey whipped ricotta and toast!  It was nice to spend time together!

Indiana Dunes

I love the beach!!  I wish we lived closer to one.  It's my dream to have a beach house.  I guess I'll settle for a fun beach day with my family!  We drove out to the Indiana Dunes and had a blast!  It's been 90 degrees for the past week, so the water was perfect.  We made sure to distance ourselves from other people, with the pandemic still going on.

We had a blast swimming in the water, playing in the sand, and looking for cool rocks.  We packed a lunch and snacks and spent most of the day there.  I'm hoping we can squeeze in one more beach day this summer!  It's a lot of prep, but so much fun!!

Quarantined 4th of July

Quarantined 4th of July!  It was so different!  No parade!  No swimming pools!  No fireworks!  Luckily we still got together with family, cooked out, swam in our little pool, and had sparklers and glow sticks!  It was still a pretty fun time!

Mila declared that it was her doll Rosaline's birthday, so we all sat and watched her open a present that she wrapped for her baby doll!  Her doll got a new outfit and matching sunglasses!  It was really cute!

Also, since we were all together, we celebrated my Dad's birthday again!

My Dad's 70th Birthday

I can't believe my Dad is 70!  Yeck, I can't believe I'm almost 40! 😨 The kids and my Mom baked a special strawberry short cake for him that was blue inside and had yellow frosting,  It turned out great and was delicious!!

I'm so lucky to have such amazing parents!  They would do anything for us!
